Esworthy Station

Our Story

Our mini homestead is located in Clayton, North Carolina. We love gardening as much as we love our animals, well almost as much! This year we are starting our new raised vegetable and herb garden. The plan is to grow enough for canning, and to share our bounty with our family and friends. We may even have time to build a small stand to sell eggs and a few veggies, we will see. If you have any questions, please feel free to call or text us, we look forward to meeting you!

We have raised Old English Sheep Dogs and several cats over the years. Our first OES was named Troy and he was with us for 11 years and made us fall in love with the breed. In the same year that we got Troy we adopted a kitten that we named Nefertiti, it was estimated that she was a Ragdoll and Siamese mix, also known as a Ragamese, and she was with us for 14 years. Troy and Nefertiti were both beloved by us, as well as our friends and family, so we decided that we wanted to spread that love and joy by breeding these breeds. Our “Backyard Chickens” are a recent addition and we have over ten different breeds currently, but we have decided to focus on five breeds for now.

Old English Sheep Dog Puppies

We have raised AKA registered Old English Sheepdogs for 19 wonderful years. We want to share this experience and enable you to enjoy this wonderful, caring breed of dogs. Our top priority will be finding loving homes for our puppies. Two of our dogs, Loki and Freyja are expecting a litter of puppies in mid March! As soon as the puppies are a week old I will register the litter with the AKC. This will enable you to register your puppy at your convenience. I will give you the necessary paperwork when you get your puppy. More details will be available in the coming weeks!

How Much are our Puppies?

In total each puppy will have a fee of $2,100.00. Broken down in the below pay schedule.

  • $500.00 deposit - Non-Refundable

  • $800.00 due at 6 weeks - Non-Refundable

  • $800.00 due before pick up

Please Note: Our policy is that the order in which we receive deposits is the order in which you have the ability to choose a puppy.

When will I get my puppy?

Here at Esworthy Station we believe in doing what is best for all of our animals. The longer your puppy stays with its mom, the healthier they will be. After speaking with our vet and doing research, we believe that they will be ready to go home with you between 8-10 weeks. We will be able to keep your pup longer if it works better for you.

What do you feed your dogs?

We feed all of our dogs Purina Pro Plan for large breed puppies and for our adult dogs. Your puppy will be going home with a gallon ziplock bag full of puppy food. We highly recommend that you speak to your vet about continuing this food. Feel free to ask if you would like to know more about why we choose this for our dogs.

Health Guarantee and Contract

We provide a health guarantee for each of our puppies. Please read the contract. Freyja and her puppies will visit the veterinarian at 6 weeks of age. Each puppy will receive their first round of shots at this visit. We will be happy to give you our veterinarians contact information if you would like it. As per the contract, you will need to make an appointment for your puppy to visit a vet within one week of your pick up date. You will be asked to sign the document when you pick up your puppy.

We Do Not Ship Puppies

While we will not ship our puppies, we will personally fly with your puppy from Raleigh Durham Airport to the airport of your choice. We will not ship them because this is how we received our very first Old English sheepdog. Troy was covered in his own urine and feces and very traumatized. This service will vary in price due to flight price, duration of the flight, and if accommodations will be needed. You are also welcome to hire your own pet transport or come to our homestead for pickup.

While they are not registered, they are both gentle and love cuddles. They recently had their first litter of kittens and we will be posting individual pictures soon. Exotic Chicks

While we have only raised chickens for one year, we have learned so much! We have decided to focus on five breeds so that we get the most colorful range of eggs. We have Blue/Black Splash Ameraucana (blue egg), Blue Laced Red Wyandotte (pinkish eggs), Laced Blue Belle (green eggs), Black Copper Marans (dark red egg), and Ayam Cemani (cream egg). We hatch eggs to keep our flock strong and to pass on the joy of those colored eggs!

How Much are our Chicks?

Our Chicks are $10.00 each.

We do have a minimum quantity of 3 for chick orders (mix and match is allowed!). Local pick-up only, we do not ship chicks at this time.

We will have more information when our next hatchlings will be available, I am collecting eggs now to be incubated.
